Preparation to go to Indonesia

Jakarta Airport is not the worse airport in the world and also Jakarta is not the most complicated and unpleasant capitol compared to other-third country cities.  No need to be overwhelmed to prepare your trip to Jakarta, but believe me, neglecting view things below could lead you to some bad experiences and skeptical mind about Indonesia later.

10 points before you go

1. Find out your purpose: is it a Business Trip, Holiday and Travel by yourself only, Visiting Friends or Family, participating in Tour package, or diplomatic visit.
2. Plan your schedule : arrival, departure, daily activities.
3. Pick Up Places you want to go and search and mark them in your Google Map even if you have ever been there or you will be accompanied by somebody at the time.
4. Do a little research about the transportation you will use to those places.
5. Calculate your feasible budget: prepare you credit card in certain limit, US dollar, and Rupiah as well
6. Decide how will you spend the night.
7. Be ready for official paper work: passport, visa, name card or even sponsorship letter if necessary.
8. Make sure about how you will communicate to local or international network.
9. Additional gadgets: GPS with Indonesia Map, power connector converter for your laptop or phones, or even electronic dictionary just in case.
10. Adequate clothing: fit the weather, the humidity, the temperature, and the pollution too.

 From Plane to Baggage Claim

1. Check out your cabin seat before leaving the plane.
2. Follow the queue: to visa on arrival counter or immigration line for foreigner
3. Do you need any Porter ?
4. Money changer and ATM
5. Hotel and Transportation booking

From Baggage Claim to Taxi or Parking Area

1. Does anybody pick you up?
2. Indonesian People in general
3. Official Taxi
4. Unofficial Transport
5. Seller unnecessary
6. Possibility of minor criminal action around you.
7. Go to the bathroom and prepare your meal for the next clue

10 minutes after leaving the airport

1. Mastering the traffic jam schedule
2. Confirming your right direction
3. Make friend with emergency numbers
4. Back to business or Checking In your Hotel.
